Woodworking doesn’t have the luxury of an undo button, which - while unfortunate - does present an interesting challenge when crafting beautiful pieces. Figuring out the best way to tackle a project at Untethered Spirit was a lot like building an airplane while flying it.
Game Master Screen
I designed screen for a game master in a tabletop roleplaying game to mirror the Art Deco-meets-Western sensibilities of the game world and used a CNC router to carve it out of an old endtable. The back has embedded magnets to secure notes and other items.
maple endtables
Some pieces of wood are too pretty to throw away. These solid maple endtables are constructed entirely out of scrap wood, saving them from the burn pile and allowing their beauty to be appreciated for years to come.
walnut sidetable
Is walnut the most gorgeous wood around? Probably. And it shines here in this rustic-modern fusion that breaks all the rules. Green epoxy inlay not only adorns the top, but the support arm is actually suspended in it. This piece was also crafted from scrap wood.
